Thai Notary Law is a full-service immigration law firm based in Bangkok, filing visa applications with Thai embassies abroad, the Immigration Bureau in Thailand and the Board of Investment. We advise foreign professionals, retirees, digital nomads, investors and their families through every stage: eligibility screening, document preparation, translation and legalisation, filing, RFE handling, collection of the visa stamp and post-arrival compliance (TM.30, 90-day reports, work permit issuance).

Why Thai Notary Law

Bar-registered lawyers
Every consultation is signed off by a Thai lawyer on the Lawyers Council of Thailand roll — bound by professional ethics, not an agent operating under an unlicensed brand.

Remote-first workflow
We handle 95 % of matters over LINE, email and Zoom. Physical appearance is only required for Immigration Bureau interviews, PR panels and biometric capture.
End-to-end firm
Translation, MoJ legalisation, Apostille, notarisation, work permit and post-arrival compliance are all handled in-house so we control every deadline in the chain.
Corporate retainer available
For companies with multiple foreign staff we run monthly retainers covering Non-B, Work Permit, 90-day reporting and TM.30 as a bundle.

Which Thai visa fits your situation

Tourists on the 60-day visa exemption who need to overstay their welcome pivot into TR, DTV or Non-ED status. Foreign employees hired by a Thai company always sit under Non-B tied to a Work Permit. Spouses of Thai nationals qualify for Non-O marriage after presenting the Kor Ror 2 marriage certificate. Retirees aged 50 and above choose between Non-O-A (short queue, requires health insurance) and O-X (10-year, higher deposit).

Digital nomads working for a foreign payroll should file the DTV under the Workation category (letter from employer, ฿500,000 in a savings account, five-year multiple entry). Investors above USD 500 k or professionals earning more than USD 80 k qualify for LTR (10 years, tax-privileged, no 90-day reporting). High-net-worth individuals seeking premium concierge use Thailand Privilege (Elite) at ฿650 k for 5 years up to ฿5 M for 20 years.

For long-term residency without renewal every year, PR (Permanent Residence) opens the door to naturalisation. Our practice files roughly 40 PR petitions per annum with a success ratio above 80 %.

Documents that always matter

Passport valid at least 6 months with 2 blank pages; police clearance certificate (or FBI check for US citizens, ACRO for UK, Führungszeugnis for Germany, DBS for Australia); certified translation of civil-status documents; medical certificate on the standard Ministry of Public Health form; bank statements showing the mandatory threshold for the visa class; and a Thai residential address proof if filing inside the kingdom.

For Non-B applicants we additionally prepare the Kor 1 employer letter, the WP.3 pre-approval and the company's ภ.พ.20, ภ.ง.ด.50 and social security list. For BOI Section 24, we co-ordinate with your BOI corporate officer to keep the e-Visa portal in sync.

Fees, timeline and post-approval obligations

Government fees range from ฿1,900 (single-entry) to ฿400,000+ (Thailand Privilege membership). Our professional fee typically sits between ฿15,000 and ฿250,000 depending on the visa class and complexity. Timelines: TR 5-10 working days, Non-B 10-20 days, DTV 3-6 weeks, LTR 8-12 weeks, PR 12-18 months.

After collection, foreign residents must file TM.30 within 24 hours of arrival at any address, TM.47 (90-day report) every quarter, and — for Non-B holders — renew the Work Permit annually. We calendar these obligations for you and file automatically under retainer.

FAQ

Can I switch from tourist to Non-B inside Thailand?

Yes — a status change is possible if the employer files WP.3 pre-approval and the applicant has more than 21 days left on the entry stamp. If not, we route you out to a Thai consulate in Vientiane, Savannakhet, Penang or Ho Chi Minh City for a fresh Non-B.

Do I need a lawyer for a tourist visa?

Not for a straightforward TR application — the consulate portal is user-friendly. Lawyers add value when there is a prior overstay, refusal, criminal record or an unusual sponsorship structure.

Does the Elite / Thailand Privilege visa give me a work permit?

No. Elite is a residency privilege; if you also intend to work in Thailand you still need a Non-B and Work Permit, or the LTR Highly-Skilled/WFH categories which include a Digital Work Permit built in.

Are you a licensed law firm or a visa agent?

We are a Thai law firm registered with the Lawyers Council of Thailand and hold a commercial registration for legal services. Our name appears on all court filings; agents cannot.

Do you help with the 90-day report and TM.30?

Yes — under our compliance retainer we file both electronically and forward the receipts to you within the day.

Can dependants of an LTR/BOI/SMART holder apply through you?

Yes. Non-O dependent visas for spouses and children under 20 are filed on the same case file to keep timelines aligned.
